Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

What? You haven’t seen it yet? What is your problem? Don’t worry, you must watch it. If you love musicals or you love Neil Patrick Harris or you love Joss Whedon, or you are breathing air, you will love this. Think “Once More, With Feeling“, but with 10 times more awesomeness!

Embedded Hulu video below, click here to view it at Hulu in better quality. Also available on iTunes.

Dr. Horrible cannot be explained… Well, I guess it could if I just copy and paste from Hulu…

Aspiring super-villain Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris) wants to join the Evil League of Evil and win the girl of his dreams, but his nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion), stops him at every turn in this three-part musical.

There you go. Trust me on this. You will not be disappointed if you have even a slight sense of humor.

Radiohead’s “Nude” as performed by old technology

From Gizmodo: “Most people just create amusing videos to fit their favorite songs, but James Houston went one step further and synchronized a bunch of obsolete gadget noises to recreate Radiohead’s “Nude.” A Sinclair ZX Spectrum 8-bit PC was used for rhythm and lead guitars, an HP Scanjet 3c was used for bass guitar, an Epson LX-81 Dot Matrix Printer was used for drums, and an array of hard drives were used as bad speakers to distort and reproduce vocals and effects.”

Fantastic Plastic Machine

Fantastic Plastic Machine is the stage name of a J-Pop/DJ named Tomoyuki Tanaka. He is considered to be part of the Shibuya-kei movement, drawing heavily from bossa nova, lounge music, house music, and ’60s movie soundtracks, but he also incorporates many other types of music.

Below are three of my favorite tracks:

Beautiful Days

Love is Psychedelic (Bob Sinclair remix)

Different Colors (Featuring video by Superflat artist Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton)

Okay, I lied. Four favorites. This one is “Don’t You Know”. It’s awesome just for the video.

For more of his songs, check out YouTube.

I’m Sticking With FireFox

I just can’t go back to Safari. For all FireFox’s quirks, its lack of suckage makes up for it.

To celebrate, let’s all have some porcupine pie!
